Anodyne Nanotech, a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Boston, Massachusetts, has closed a $12.6 million Series A financing. The round was led by Velocity Partners VC and co-led by Evercurious VC, with major participation from Relativity Healthcare Partners.
The company develops transdermal therapeutics, treatments delivered through the skin rather than by injection. Its solid-state microneedle technology is designed to deliver multi-milligram doses of large molecules, including peptides, antibodies, and nucleic acid therapeutics, through a patch that stays stable at room temperature while maintaining the kind of efficacy usually associated with injections.
Proceeds from the round will advance ANN-101, the company’s once-weekly GLP-1 patch for obesity, into a Phase I clinical trial. The financing will also accelerate development of Anodyne’s broader transdermal platform, support manufacturing scale-up, and fund a range of strategic partnering activities.
The raise reflects continued interest in new delivery methods for GLP-1 drugs, a class of obesity and metabolic treatments that has drawn intense attention across the pharmaceutical industry.
