Coval, a San Francisco, California company that tests and monitors AI voice and chat agents, has raised $28 million in Series A funding. The round, announced on June 24, 2026, was led by Norwest, with participation from Base10 Partners, Twilio Ventures, and Y Combinator. The raise brings the company’s total funding to $31 million since it launched in 2024.

Coval runs a simulation, observability, and labeling platform that helps enterprises scale voice and chat AI agents. Founder Brooke Hopkins previously led evaluation infrastructure at Waymo, and the company applies the same simulation-first discipline that helped make autonomous vehicles safe on public roads to a new generation of autonomous AI agents.

The company says its platform runs tens of millions of evaluations. Customers including Zoom and more than 60 other enterprises rely on Coval to cut manual quality assurance work by up to 30 times and to speed up voice agent deployment by up to 10 times.

The new capital will help Coval address the reliability and compliance challenges that come with deploying autonomous voice agents. The company plans to expand its sales and solutions engineering teams to meet rising demand.

The raise arrives during a surge in voice AI investment, with more than $7 billion poured into the category in the first quarter of 2026 alone.
