Xellar Biosystems, a biotech company based in Newton, Massachusetts, has closed $50 million in Series A and A+ financing to advance its drug discovery platform. The company announced the round on June 29, 2026.

Founded in 2022, Xellar builds what it calls 3D Bio Intelligence, an approach that pairs organ on a chip technology with advanced imaging and machine learning to speed up how new drugs are found and developed.

The platform combines wet lab experiments with AI models to make sense of complex biological data, with the aim of cutting the time and cost of moving new treatments forward.

The financing gives Xellar more room to grow its platform as investor interest holds up in tools that use computation to make drug research faster and more predictable.
