InTouchNow has raised £2.3 million in a Seed round led by Ada Ventures, with Exceptional Ventures and Kadmos Capital participating. It is one of Ada Ventures’ largest seed cheques so far and the first venture capital investment into an AI voice agent working in NHS primary care.
The company is based in Borehamwood, in the UK. It builds AI voice agents for general practices to ease pressure on overstretched primary care services.
Getting through to a GP by phone is still hard for many patients. More than four in ten say they do not find it easy, and millions of calls to practices go unanswered every month. InTouchNow’s system answers inbound calls around the clock, handling appointment booking, triage data collection and routine admin. It typically resolves 50% to 70% of calls without a person and sends clinical or complex queries straight to practice staff.
More than 150 practices across the country already use it. Independent analysis of NHS Cloud-Based Telephony data across 18 practices serving 240,000 registered patients found that after rollout, the share of answered calls rose from 55.9% to 65.6%. Calls answered within two minutes climbed from 50.7% to 67.0%, and average wait time fell 32%, from 181 seconds to 123. At one Surrey practice, the queue disappeared entirely, freeing 411 hours of reception time over four months.
Patients are told at the start that they are speaking to an AI and can ask for a human receptionist at any time. A frustration-detection feature can also hand the call to staff automatically. Daniel Park is the founder of the healthcare startup.
Telephony providers, clinical software vendors and NHS suppliers can get verified founder contacts at newly funded healthcare startups every week with Healthcare Sales Leads.
