Dextr AI has come out of stealth with $6.7 million in Seed round funding. Elevation Capital led the round, Foundation Capital participated, and it is the company’s first institutional financing.
Dextr is based in San Francisco. CEO Sajid Shariff and CTO Scott Arnold founded it in July 2025 to build AI agents that handle reservations, guest requests, staff coordination and other jobs in the hospitality industry.
The idea grew out of Shariff’s return to the Bay Area in 2024, when former colleagues told him hotels were still wrestling with rising labor costs, staffing gaps and pressure to grow revenue. He built a guest-facing agent called Alfred for a couple of properties to answer questions and help with check-ins and check-outs, and online reviews improved at both within 90 days. Dextr then added Daisy, a voice reservations agent. One large hotel customer now runs $100,000 to $300,000 a month in bookings through Daisy, according to Shariff.
The company has since added agents for group bookings, staff management and other work, and it links them so that information picked up in one part of a hotel can trigger action in another. A guest who declines housekeeping, for example, can prompt an adjustment to staff schedules. Late arrivals can be verified and given room-entry instructions by Daisy and Alfred working together, which could let some properties drop an overnight front desk shift.
Dextr sends engineers to work directly with each customer and connect agents to existing systems, including Oracle Hospitality, OPERA Cloud, StayNtouch, Cloudbeds and Hostaway. Staff can direct the agents by text or voice through a companion called Doss. Its agents now handle more than 1 million interactions a month across hundreds of hotels, from a 21-room property to one with 550 rooms, including properties flying the Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western and IHG flags, along with reservation centers, vacation rentals and outdoor hospitality businesses.
The company charges a subscription based on the property and agents used, with usage fees for some agents. Shariff said annual recurring revenue has been growing about 20% to 30% month over month. The new money will go toward more customer-facing engineers, additional integrations and new agents. The team has grown from three people a year ago to 21.
