Kairon Health has raised $5 million to automate day-to-day operations for risk-bearing provider organizations. Flare Capital Partners led the Seed round, with Tau Ventures joining alongside existing investors Lightbank, General Advance, and Pave Health Ventures.
The New York company describes itself as the AI-native execution layer for value-based care. The distinction it draws is between visibility and execution. Legacy analytics tools flag clinical deficiencies and hand the problem back; Kairon aims to actually close care gaps without manual spreadsheets and disconnected EHR queues.
Founder and CEO Nick Bartz spent nine years building value-based care infrastructure at Aledade before starting the company with co-founder Evan.
The architecture pulls together clinical and operational data that usually sits apart: medical claims, EHR notes, admission, discharge and transfer feeds, lab values, and pharmacy fills, plus unstructured material that legacy systems discard, including meeting transcripts, field notes, and CRM logs. All of it feeds a payer-agnostic patient-to-practice data model. Five workflow clouds sit on top: Practice Intelligence, Care Operations, Patient Activation, Portfolio Management, and Impact Analytics.
Compliance matters in healthcare. Kairon is HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2 Type II certified, and NCQA Population Health Management Prevalidated, with HITRUST certification in progress.
The timing tracks a regulatory shift. CMS is pushing to have all traditional Medicare beneficiaries in accountable care relationships by 2030, and the end of ACO REACH plus the rollout of the LEAD performance model are moving provider organizations into multi-year downside risk.
The platform is live across more than 1 million attributed lives spanning Medicare Shared Savings Program, ACO REACH, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial risk contracts in more than 30 states. Customers include a national ACO enablement company managing more than 350,000 Medicare lives and a regional hospital system running value-based care operations across roughly 350,000 attributed lives.
The money will fund AI development across the five workflow clouds, deepen the care operations and patient outreach products, and expand the go-to-market team.
