SageTech Medical has closed a £2.5 million funding round that includes a £1 million equity investment from the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund, made through appointed fund manager The FSE Group. Funding databases list the raise as a Seed round.

The company is based in Paignton, Devon, in the UK. It has built patented technology that captures waste anaesthetic gases before they escape into the atmosphere.

SageTech’s circular approach helps veterinary practices and hospitals cut emissions while recovering and recycling valuable anaesthetic agents. The medical technology is already in use across veterinary and human healthcare settings in the UK and selected European markets.

The funding will expand SageTech’s team, strengthen its operations and help it meet growing demand from healthcare providers. Interest is rising among major veterinary groups, and the company is building an international presence as environmental rules and sustainability targets push providers toward greener options. Dr Iain Menneer is CEO.

The South West Investment Fund was set up to support innovation and create opportunity for new and growing businesses across the South West of England. It offers smaller loans from £25,000 to £100,000, debt finance from £100,000 to £2 million and equity investment of up to £5 million.

Distributors, clinical service firms and sustainability consultants that sell to hospitals and vet groups can reach executives at newly funded healthcare companies each week through Healthcare Sales Leads.
