GenHealth.ai, a healthcare AI company that builds agents to run the administrative side of medical practices, has raised a $16.5 million Series A led by Flare Capital Partners. The company announced the round on September 8, 2026 from Boston, Massachusetts, where it is headquartered.

Existing investors Craft Ventures and Obvious Ventures returned, joined by new backers Eniac Ventures, InHealth Ventures, Epsilon Health Investors, and ARTIS. Total funding now stands at $30 million.

The United States spends roughly $1 trillion a year on healthcare administration, and much of that work still involves people clicking through systems that do not connect. Getting a treatment approved and paid for can take hundreds of steps across electronic health records, payer portals, fax lines, and phone calls. The delays hold up patient care and leave providers and suppliers chasing money they have already earned.

GenHealth’s AI agents connect those systems and carry each task to completion. They handle intake, eligibility verification, prior authorization, billing, denials, and custom workflows end to end, working inside the EHR, payer portals, fax, and phone systems a practice already runs. Onboarding works the way hiring a person would: staff demonstrate their workflows, the practice sets up user accounts for the AI, and the agents learn those exact processes before going live. A US-based billing team at GenHealth handles exceptions, and practice staff remain involved for decisions that require judgment. The company says customers are getting paid more than 30 percent more.

Ricky Sahu and Ethan Siegel founded GenHealth in 2023 after Sahu spent a decade building interoperability APIs for large US health plans at 1upHealth and CareJourney. The agents run on the company’s Large Medical Model, a foundation model trained on the coded claims and clinical histories of more than 140 million patients. Customers include medical groups, durable medical equipment suppliers, and health plans.

The funding will go toward growing the engineering and go-to-market teams, extending the agents into additional workflows for provider groups and health plans, and continuing to improve the underlying model. GenHealth has grown past 20 employees since its seed round and is hiring across engineering, operations, and go-to-market roles.
