Seed-Backed Ambitious Bio Launches Corpus Healthy Human Protein Atlas

Ambitious Bio, which is backed by $6 million in Seed round funding, has launched Corpus™, a map of protein presence and relative abundance across healthy human tissues. The company announced the launch on September 22, 2026.
Ambitious is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It describes itself as a life sciences and AI infrastructure company that is building a systematic record of human biology for AI. Elizabeth Hudson, Ph.D., is founder and CEO.
The company’s argument is that much of human biology has never been measured in a systematic way. Unlike language data, this information cannot be scraped from an existing record. It has to be generated from physical specimens and made comparable across people, tissues, states of health and time. Ambitious says it worked backward from the decisions researchers need to make, then built the infrastructure to generate that evidence repeatedly and at scale.
For its first product, the company focused on healthy human tissue measured at the protein level. Many medicines work by engaging a specific protein target, and the best targets are plentiful in diseased tissue but scarce in vital healthy tissue. Knowing where else a target appears, and at what level, helps developers spot where a drug might act unintentionally.
In 181 head-to-head tissue comparisons against major public references and published studies, adding Corpus increased the detected protein inventory every time, with gains in a typical matched tissue of 28% to 78%. Against the Human Protein Atlas, Corpus expanded the protein parts list by 56% in the median shared tissue. Repeating the analysis with the next six largest references turned up 79% to 138% more protein types in the median tissue.
Ambitious also looked at healthy tissue expression for 973 proteins being pursued as drug targets but not yet addressed by an approved medicine. For 19% of them, the Human Protein Atlas detected no healthy expression, while Corpus reported it for the first time. For 77%, Corpus significantly widened the list of healthy tissues where expression shows up. The company is extending the same system from health to disease, into more molecular modalities and other organisms, with higher resolution and depth.
