Scholar Education has raised a $2 million Seed round to push its platform beyond classroom support. Strategic industry partners, technology investors including OneSixOne Ventures and existing shareholders all took part.

The company is based in Tampa. It is building AI infrastructure for special education, aiming to move children from diagnosis to classroom support faster than today’s process allows.

Scholar serves more than 20,000 teachers and students through two digital assistants. BaxterBot gives students a one-on-one academic channel during the regular school day, delivering accommodations automatically and adjusting to each student’s reading level and learning profile. PAWfessor Bruce takes care of planning, grading and accommodation tracking so teachers can spend more time with students.

The company is now tackling an earlier bottleneck. Families seeking special education evaluations often wait 12 to 18 months and pay $3,500 to $5,000. Scholar Health, the initiative this round will fund, is designed to simplify those evaluations, cut timelines from months to weeks, lower costs and connect assessment results directly to what happens in the classroom.

The new capital will go toward product development, strategic partnerships, clinical and educational support capabilities, and growth across Florida and beyond. Ed Buckley is founder and CEO, and Marlee Strawn is co-founder and president.

Curriculum providers, assessment firms and school software vendors can get verified founder contacts at newly funded edtech startups every week through B2B SaaS Leads.
