Eterna Regeneratives has closed a $4 million Seed round led by Hoxton Ventures and The Venture Collective. The London company is building a regenerative biomaterial platform covering enamel repair and bone regeneration, starting with the $43 billion global oral care market.
Khaled Eissa and Dr Sherif Elsharkawy co-founded the King’s College London spin-out in 2024. It drew international attention last year when studies showed the team’s patented material could regrow damaged tooth enamel using keratin, the protein found in human hair, skin, and wool.
The platform uses keratin derived from sheep’s wool to guide new mineral growth at the site of damage. Rather than simply protecting a damaged tooth, the material works with the body’s own chemistry to rebuild it.
The UK company has moved into new lab space in Canary Wharf. There it is focused on commercializing the product, building out its IP pipeline, and partnering with healthcare companies to reach the mass market.
Suppliers and service firms that work with regenerative medicine and biomaterials developers can receive verified contacts at newly funded life science companies every week through Life Science Lead Generation.
