Oak Hill Bio, a biotech company based in Altrincham, Cheshire in the United Kingdom, has raised $32.5 million in a Series A financing. The capital will help advance rugonersen, its lead antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Angelman syndrome, into a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial expected to begin in mid-2026. The round was announced on June 1, 2026.

Balyasny Asset Management, venBio, and Janus Henderson Investors co-led the financing, with participation from the KCap Biotechnology Fund.

Angelman syndrome is a serious neurodevelopmental disorder affecting roughly 30,000 diagnosed patients across the U.S. and the EU5, with no approved treatments. Rugonersen was originally developed by Roche as a highly potent and specific therapy designed to restore UBE3A production in neurons.

With the financing and additions to its board in place, Oak Hill Bio is positioned to move rugonersen into a Phase 3 study in the middle of 2026.
