Scispot, the Canadian company behind an AI-native operating layer for modern labs, has raised an $8 million Series A. The round was led by Avenue Growth Partners, a Washington, DC-based investment firm, and was announced on June 4, 2026. The financing brings Scispot’s total funding to nearly $10 million.

Based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Scispot helps life sciences labs move faster. Its software lets lab workers centralize and automate experiment planning, execution, documentation, and inventory tracking.

The company says it has found clear product-market fit, with more than 125 life sciences labs already using the technology. Scispot supports work across biotech, pharma, diagnostics, genomics, CRO and CDMO operations, bioproduction, biobanking, and testing. The platform handles more than 250 instrument types, over 1,000 experiments per month, and millions of samples across high-throughput labs.

Scispot plans to use the round to grow its product, engineering, AI, implementation, and customer success teams. The company is focused on adding high-skill roles in Canada while supporting life sciences customers across North America and beyond.
