N-Zyme Biomedical, a clinical-stage biotech company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has closed a $4.6 million Series A to move its treatments for reflux disease further into the clinic. The company announced the financing in late July 2026.
N-Zyme develops therapies that target pepsin, an enzyme tied to reflux conditions. The new capital will support Phase 2 clinical programs for its lead candidate, covering laryngopharyngeal reflux and proton pump inhibitor-refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease, and will help advance the company’s pepsin inhibitor platform.
The round drew a mix of backers, including healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, a venture capital group, and strategic investors. N-Zyme is led by chief executive Franco Vigile and chief scientific officer Dr. Nikki Johnston.
