Healia, a Columbus, Ohio company that runs a healthcare benefits platform for dual income families and their employers, has raised $14 million in Series A funding. The round brought the company’s total funding to $18 million.
111° West Capital led the investment, with Y Combinator, First Round Capital, Pioneer Fund, GoAhead Ventures and North Coast Ventures also taking part. Healia was founded by chief executive Priyang Shah.
The company builds health reimbursement arrangements that let employers cover an employee’s healthcare costs and premiums when that employee enrolls in a spouse’s plan. Its platform compares plan options to find the most affordable route for a family, handles enrollment in the spouse’s plan with a full cost comparison and automates claims so medical expenses can be reimbursed within hours.
Healia plans to use the new capital to expand its operations and its product development work.
