Lama AI, a New York based AI company focused on bank lending, has raised $12 million in Series A funding. The round was led by EJF Ventures and brings the company’s total funding to more than $20 million.

Other investors included Fin Capital, 1st & Main, senior executives from the U.S. banking industry, and returning backers SixThirty, Viola Ventures, and Hetz Ventures.

The company builds an AI agent platform for banking. Its infrastructure provides credit-risk assessment tools that let banks and fintech companies approve loans for small and medium-sized businesses more quickly and accurately. The goal is to compress a process that often takes weeks down to minutes.

Lama AI reports 300 percent year-over-year growth. Since launching, it has broadened support across the full lifecycle of additional credit products, including commercial and industrial lending, commercial real estate financing, and credit cards.

The new capital will fund expansion of the company’s go-to-market, sales, and marketing teams as it works to meet rising demand from banks across the United States.
