Tombot, a Santa Clarita, California company that builds robotic companion animals, has closed a $7 million Series A financing round to scale operations and widen its product line.
The round drew investment from Caduceus Capital Partners, Wavemaker 360, the Lutheran Foundation for Long Term Living, and Florida Community Health Network.
The company’s first product is Jennie, a lifelike robotic Labrador puppy designed to support the more than 300 million seniors worldwide living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment, along with people coping with anxiety, loneliness, autism, and PTSD. Jennie mimics the movements and responses of an 8 to 10 week-old puppy, offering the companionship and wellbeing benefits of a live animal without the demands of caring for one.
Tombot says it has more than 23,000 pre-order and waitlist customers, and that Jennie has drawn global recognition for its approach to emotional support through robotics.
The financing positions the company to scale manufacturing, build out its operations, and push toward commercialization ahead of a planned customer launch in the fall of 2026.
