Goldenrod Therapeutics, a precision biotech company based in Houston, Texas, has completed the initial closing of a $6.5 million Series Seed preferred stock round. The round, announced in June 2026, was led by Ataxia Ventures and an affiliate of Fannin Partners.
The proceeds will fund manufacturing, formulation optimization, and IND-enabling studies, along with a Phase I study in the company’s lead therapeutic indication, Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease.
A Fannin-founded company, Goldenrod develops novel brain-penetrant therapies that target neuroinflammation and neuronal signaling pathways tied to neurodegenerative and neurological disorders. Its lead candidate, 11h, is a small-molecule drug that inhibits the enzyme PDE4.
The 11h program also supports the company’s broader development goals against Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, substance use disorders, Batten Disease, pain, and traumatic brain injury.
