Aurenar, a St. Louis company developing a noninvasive neuromodulation medical device for intensive care patients, has closed an oversubscribed $5.7 million seed round. The Go Red for Women Venture Fund, part of American Heart Association Ventures, and Solas BioVentures jointly led the financing, which was announced on July 28, 2026.

BJC Health and Kaleida Capital also took part. Aurenar’s single use V-Link platform, which recently earned breakthrough device designation from the FDA, delivers transauricular vagus nerve stimulation to calm the body’s inflammatory response in conditions such as subarachnoid hemorrhage and other critical care situations.

In clinical testing, the approach reduced moderate to severe vasospasm by more than 40%, lowered pro inflammatory cytokines and improved patient outcomes, with a companion analysis pointing to a 20% drop in modifiable hospitalization costs over 30 days.

Aurenar plans to use the money to push toward pivotal trials, including final device development, verification and validation testing and regulatory submissions to the FDA.
