Notes.fm has raised $5 million from artists, managers, executives, and strategic partners across the music industry. The Seed round money will scale marketing and fund international expansion.
The investor list reads like a who’s who of the business. Benny Blanco, Zach Bryan and his managers Stefan Max and Danny Kang, Tainy, and Blake Slatkin all took part, alongside industry figures including Julie Greenwald, Ari Emanuel, and Sam Hendel.
The New York company is the latest venture from Stem co-founder Tim Luckow. Its platform helps musicians and music companies identify and collect all of the royalties they are owed, pulling distribution and publishing into one place so independent artists can control their earnings rather than lose income they never knew existed.
That last part is not theoretical. Since its public launch last year, Notes has identified more than $10 million in previously unclaimed royalties across a wide range of artists and catalogs, including James Blake, Zach Bryan, Mt. Joy, and Girl In Red.
Service providers and software vendors selling into music companies and independent artists can get verified contacts at newly funded startups every week from the B2B Sales Leads List.
