Traysar Raises $25M Seed for Subterranean Defense Tech

Traysar, a defense technology company headquartered in Austin, Texas, has come out of stealth with a $25 million Seed round. The company launched publicly at the 2026 Reindustrialize Summit, describing itself as the world’s first subterra defense tech company. The round was led by Silent Ventures.

A long list of investors joined in. Lux Capital, Ora Global, and strategic angels including Steve Blank took part, along with founders from Anduril and Erebor. Other backers include NeverLift VC, Mana, Impatient Ventures, New Vista, and Entree Capital.

Traysar is working on something unusual: autonomous platforms built to operate beneath the surface of the Earth. Through advances in military boring and subterranean autonomous systems, the company aims to turn the Earth’s crust into a three-dimensional space for maneuver. That opens up a new class of strike capabilities against targets that were previously out of reach, along with rapid underground protection of critical infrastructure for the United States and its allies.

The engineering team includes early engineers from SpaceX and The Boring Company, a background that fits the company’s focus on burrowing and tunneling at speed. Traysar is fielding two initial platforms. The first is an excavator-class autonomous system for tunnel breaching and tactical exploration, built to navigate, map, and clear contested underground networks. The second is a high-speed, rapid-burrowing platform that creates precision access points underground and delivers critical payloads beneath the surface.

With $25 million raised and a team drawn from some of the most ambitious engineering programs of the past decade, Traysar is staking out a corner of defense technology that few others have tried to build.
