Architect Labs, a semiconductor company based in Palo Alto, California, has emerged from stealth with $24 million in a Seed round. The financing was led by Kindred Ventures, with participation from TQ Ventures, Race Capital, Together Fund, and a long list of well-known figures in modern computing and AI.

That list includes Srinivas Narayanan, Lukasz Kaiser, Aravind Srinivas, Kunle Olukotun, Trevor Blackwell, Dr. Alex Wissner-Gross, Shaad Khan, and other executives from NVIDIA, Google, and OpenAI. Kindred founder and managing partner Steve Jang joined the company’s board as part of the deal.

Architect Labs is building an AI system that designs and verifies chips from end to end. The aim is to let partners turn demanding workloads into production-ready silicon while sharply cutting the time it normally takes to get there. The company frames its ambition in big terms, describing its work as the start of a designless semiconductor industry, where custom silicon becomes accessible to far more people than it is today.

That positions the company against the established custom chip businesses of players like Broadcom and Marvell, a notable target for a startup just stepping out of stealth.

The funding will go toward scaling the company’s compute infrastructure, deepening its AI research, and co-designing production silicon with early industry partners. Architect Labs was founded by Ebrahim Hussain and Aaditya Subedi.

Custom chip design has long been expensive and slow, the domain of a handful of large companies with deep resources. By using AI to handle design and verification together, Architect Labs is wagering that it can lower those barriers and bring custom silicon within reach of a much wider set of customers.
