TerraFirma Raises $100M Series A for Robotic Construction Crews

TerraFirma, based in Austin, Texas, has raised roughly $115 million, including a $100 million Series A led by Kleiner Perkins. Bain Capital Ventures, Glade Brook Capital Partners, BANNER VC and other investors also participated.
Former SpaceX engineers Noah Schochet and Noah McGuinness founded the company in 2024. It operates as a technology enabled, vertically integrated construction business, starting with robotic earthworks and site operations.
Its full stack platform brings together AI enabled pre-construction software, a remote command and control center, and retrofitted semi-autonomous heavy machinery.
Recent commercial work includes site preparation, excavation and grading for a new Starbucks in North Austin, a sports arena in Spicewood, and a power substation in New Braunfels that supports power delivery to homes.
TerraFirma plans to spend the money expanding its engineering, manufacturing, operations and construction teams, and continuing development of its semi-autonomous heavy equipment systems.
