Takt has raised $9.25 million in Series A funding led by Ballast Point Partners. It is the first institutional financing the company has taken on since it started up in 2021.
Takt operates out of Reston and sells a warehouse labor management and intelligence platform. The Virginia company supports more than 100 warehouses across North America and international markets, with users that include Fortune 500 retailers, global brands and several of the largest third party logistics providers in North America.
The software connects to warehouse management systems, time clocks, robotics, material handling controls and homegrown applications, then measures activity continuously against engineered labor standards. From that data it builds labor plans, tracks performance and adjusts operations during the day through TaktAI. The idea is to treat people and machines as one workforce rather than two separate ones.
Customer numbers back the pitch up. At one consumer packaged goods site, average cost per pallet dropped 15 percent, which worked out to $229,000 a year. The platform has also been credited with a 29 percent gain in workforce performance.
The new capital is earmarked for expansion into the United Kingdom, the European Union and Asia Pacific, plus further work on order orchestration, resource scheduling and engineering tools.
Companies that sell software and services to newly funded operators like Takt can source verified buyer contacts each week through B2B SaaS Leads.
