Superluminal Medicines has closed an oversubscribed $60 million Series B led by BVF Partners, announced on September 3, 2026. New investors Deep Track Capital and Perceptive Advisors joined, alongside existing backers RA Capital Management, Insight Partners, NVIDIA, Catalio Capital Management, Eli Lilly and Company, Cooley and Gaingels.
The company is based in Boston, and its lead programme targets rare genetic forms of obesity.
That candidate is a small-molecule melanocortin-4 receptor agonist, taken orally, aimed at rare genetic obesity and hypothalamic obesity. Proceeds fund the start of a Phase 1 clinical trial by the end of 2026.
The rest of the money goes into the company’s GPCR-focused discovery platform. G protein-coupled receptors sit behind a large share of approved drugs, and Superluminal is building computational tools to work that target class more systematically.
The investor list is worth a second look. Having both Eli Lilly and NVIDIA on the register says something about where a computational biotech sits now, with pharma on one side and compute on the other.
The Massachusetts company moves from platform work to the clinic with this round.
