Easy Aerial has completed a $20 million Series B backed by Insight Partners, Entree Capital and private US investors.
The company builds autonomous tethered drone systems from Brooklyn, New York.
Tethered is the operative word. Rather than flying free with a limited battery, its systems stay connected to a ground unit, which is what makes persistent aerial coverage practical. The applications are ISR, force protection, perimeter security, emergency response and critical infrastructure operations, deployed on both mobile platforms and fixed sites.
The round funds continued global expansion, more production capacity, international defense programmes and further investment in autonomous aerial technology.
Manufacturing has already moved beyond the United States. Easy Aerial recently expanded production into Europe and continues building out its global manufacturing and integration network for defense, government and commercial customers.
