Skapion Raises $36M Seed for Counter-Drone Swarm Defense

Skapion, a defense technology company based in Washington, D.C. with a research center in Israel, has raised $36 million in a seed round to build what it describes as the first native counter-swarm defense system for detecting and defeating large-scale drone attacks. UP Partners and Khosla Ventures co-led the financing, with participation from existing investors Fusion VC, Stratos Ventures, TBD VC and q Fund.

The company, started by veterans of air-defense programs, is developing a mobile system built to counter coordinated drone swarms rather than single aircraft.

Skapion plans to use the capital to expand hiring, advance engineering and system validation, and deepen its work with government and defense customers in Israel, the United States and allied countries.
