Paper, a San Francisco, California company building a design platform for the AI era, has raised a $34 million Series A. Accel and ICONIQ led the round, which the company announced on July 23, 2026.
Designer Fund also joined, along with a group of angel investors that includes Michael Grinich of WorkOS, Anton Osika of Lovable, and engineers and designers from Anthropic and OpenAI. The company plans to use the money to speed up product development, expand its team, and invest further in AI-native workflows for designers.
Paper gathered momentum after the early 2026 launch of Paper Desktop, which turns the design canvas into a shared workspace for people and AI agents, connecting design, code, and data at the same time. Since launch, the company says its annual recurring revenue has grown 25 times over, and it has appeared on Ramp’s Fastest Growing Companies list for four months running.
The platform is already in use at companies such as Ramp, Lovable, Vercel, PostHog, Quartr, and Y Combinator.
