Convey, an enterprise AI company based in San Francisco, has closed a $38 million Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Khosla Ventures and Pear VC both returned for the round, and as part of the deal a16z partner Joe Schmidt is taking a seat on Convey’s board.
The company builds software that lets people without a technical background create and manage what it calls digital teammates. These are AI agents that carry out business operations on their own, handling work that would otherwise sit with a human operator. The pitch is straightforward: give operators a way to automate enterprise tasks without needing to write code or wait on an engineering team.
Demand has been climbing. Convey says its platform has already completed more than one million hours of automated work for a list of customers that includes NBCUniversal, Samsara, TelevisaUnivision, Unity, Faire, and ChargePoint. That kind of traction is part of what drew the investment, with the round arriving as interest in the product picks up.
The fresh capital is earmarked for two things: expanding further into enterprise markets and continuing to develop the product. On the compliance side, the company is SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA compliant, credentials that tend to matter when selling automation tools into large organizations that handle sensitive data.
With a well-known lead investor, a board addition, and a growing roster of enterprise names already on the books, Convey heads into its next phase with the backing to chase a larger share of the market it is building in.
