Ayble Health, a Boston company that runs a virtual digestive health clinic, has closed an oversubscribed $16 million round. Neon led the Series A, with Unum Ventures, Upfront Ventures, M13, Cleveland Clinic Ventures, DigiTx, Accomplice, and several individual investors taking part. The company has now raised more than $27 million in total.
The money will speed up Ayble’s move into AI-driven precision care for digestive and autoimmune conditions. Specifically, the Massachusetts company plans to advance its proprietary model that pairs AI with clinician-led precision care, and to sharpen the data-driven personalization it uses for patient engagement, enrollment, and treatment. It also intends to expand beyond its core gastrointestinal focus into adjacent areas, starting with autoimmune conditions.
Ayble describes its approach as a combination of specialized clinical expertise and advanced technology. The healthcare company has grown quickly over the past few years. Amazon Health’s Benefits Connector picked it as its first digital GI solution, and Ayble says it is now in-network with most commercial health plans, covering more than 80 million patients through its partnerships. Collaborators include Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Priority Health, and Castlight Health.
Founder and CEO Sam Jactel has pointed out that many of the company’s GI patients are also managing autoimmune conditions, which is the reasoning behind the expansion.
