Leaps by Bayer Leads Sabanto Series B for Farm Autonomy

Sabanto, a Chicago, Illinois company that builds autonomous retrofit technology for agriculture, has closed an oversubscribed Series B led by Leaps by Bayer. The announcement came on July 14, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sustainable Forward Capital, InnoVenture Iowa, Fulcrum Global Capital, DCVC and Yara joined the round.

The company’s approach is to upgrade tractors rather than replace them. By letting existing machines run autonomously during planting and other field operations, growers can extend operating hours to almost any time of day and lean less on seasonal labour. The retrofit platform gives farming operations a lower capital path to profitability, since it works with existing, cheaper, smaller horsepower equipment.

Sabanto intends to use the money to accelerate adoption of autonomous technology, expand its customer base and keep developing its retrofit kits across North America and beyond. It is targeting hundreds of new farms for deployment over the next 12 months.
