K2 Therapeutics has named Dr. Ying Huang as chief executive officer and disclosed a $50 million Seed round from MPM BioImpact. The announcement came on August 11, 2026, out of Boston and Singapore.
Huang arrives having previously run Legend Biotech, which gives the appointment more weight than a typical early stage hire. MPM BioImpact founded K2 in 2024 and has funded it since.
The company is testing a different model for biotechnology innovation. Rather than originating everything in house, K2 sources assets worldwide and pairs them with experienced drug development leadership, with the goal of finding and advancing first in class and best in class therapeutic candidates wherever they happen to be sitting.
That approach has produced a portfolio of eight therapeutic programs so far. They span several modalities, including antibody drug conjugates and T cell engagers, and sit at stages ranging from preclinical through clinical.
