TRIMTECH Therapeutics, a Cambridge, England biotechnology company developing small molecule treatments for neurodegenerative disease, has raised an additional $14 million, bringing its total Seed round to $47 million, equal to about £35 million.

The latest financing was led by Johnson & Johnson’s corporate venture arm, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, known as JJDC, along with BGF. Following the extension, representatives from JJDC and BGF joined the company’s board as non-executive directors.

Founded in 2023, TRIMTECH designs highly selective, small molecule targeted protein degraders aimed at neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases. Its work builds on decades of academic research into a protein called TRIM21, a novel E3-ligase. The company says its TRIMTAC and TRIMGLUE degraders can selectively break down toxic protein aggregates and oligomers while leaving the healthy, functional forms of those proteins intact.

The extension follows the company’s earlier $31 million seed round in 2025, led by CIC and DDF, with M Ventures and Pfizer Ventures joining. Other investors include Eli Lilly and Company, MP Healthcare Venture Management, Cambridge Enterprise Ventures, and Start Codon.

The continued backing from major pharmaceutical investors points to sustained interest in targeted protein degradation as an approach to hard-to-treat neurological conditions.
