GoSprout raised an initial $1.2 million this summer to grow its operations. Backers include Education Innovation Ventures of Los Angeles, Robin Hood of New York, LearnLaunch Fund + Accelerator of Boston and the Bravo Family Foundation. Funding databases list the raise as a Seed round.
The software startup is based in Miami. It has built a cloud platform that simplifies apprenticeship paperwork for employers, apprentices and funders, which improves compliance and opens up more money for job training.
Documenting apprenticeship training has long been complicated enough that many employers skip applying for available government and other funding. GoSprout has digitized more than 500,000 training records so far. It was also picked to run the technology side of a new three-year, nationwide Jobs for the Future program backed by Google, and clients such as United Airlines use it outside the U.S. as well.
Customers range from Amgen, Duncan Aviation and the University of Virginia to Miami-Dade Public Schools, which uses the platform to track training hours in about a dozen programs, including air-conditioning mechanic and pharmacy technician courses. GoSprout also partners with CareerSource South Florida and supports training in fields from aviation mechanics to advanced manufacturing and data marketing.
The company runs a SaaS model, with customers usually paying a subscription based on the number of learners they support, and CEO Carlos Vazquez expects revenue to top $1 million this year. Vazquez co-founded GoSprout with software developer Roger Rodriguez, and they launched the platform in 2023. In April, the company won a Bravo Family Foundation fellowship for entrepreneurs of Puerto Rican heritage.
GoSprout has about a dozen employees, roughly half in the Florida city and some in Colombia.
