Filament Sciences, a professional hair care brand based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has raised a $2 million Seed round. The round was led by Wittington Ventures, a family office, with Willow taking part as a secondary investor.
The brand is the work of Nathan Puksta, a serial entrepreneur who previously served as SVP at L’Oreal, SVP at Kiehl’s Since 1851, and global general manager at Baxter of California.
Filament is using the funding to expand its salon partnerships. By April, the company had partnered with salon distributor The Four Star Companies to gain placement in the top 2 percent of salons nationwide, or roughly 3,000 accounts, along with an additional 1,000 to 1,500 dermatology and aesthetics clinics.
