Ex Spotify Team Raises $10M Seed for Malachyte

Malachyte closed a $10 million seed round on August 6, 2026, co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Gradient Ventures with Harpoon Ventures participating. The company is based in New York, New York.

The founding team arrives with an unusually specific credential. Sidd Motwani, Ian Anderson and Shivaditya Sinha, now chief executive, chief technology officer and chief operating officer respectively, built the behavioral intelligence infrastructure behind more than 90 percent of Spotify recommendations, covering over 800 million users and more than a billion items.

Malachyte applies that same discipline to retail. Its platform reads shopper behavior and personalizes online storefronts in real time, which addresses a gap most commerce personalization tools handle poorly: the visitor who browses without ever logging in.

The product is already live with brands including HalloweenCostumes.com, Brunt Workwear and Jordan Craig.

New capital will go toward expanding distribution of the behavior intelligence platform and hiring senior commercial and product executives.
