Blue Voice Raises $6M for AI Police Policy Assistant

Blue Voice has come out of stealth with $6 million in a Seed round led by SignalFire and Las Olas VC.
The company is based in Boston, and it builds an AI platform that gives police officers real-time access to department policies, laws and ordinances.
The comparison the founders reach for is Harvey, the AI tool widely used by lawyers, or OpenEvidence for doctors. The premise is the same: a professional working under time pressure needs an answer from a specific body of rules, not a general search.
Adoption is already broad. Officers at 225 county agencies across 25 states use the tool daily to check that their actions follow department protocol.
David Lawrence, a Harvard Law dropout, leads the company with co-founders Amit Patankar and Michael Gropman, a retired Boston deputy chief.
The capital funds three things: expanding the real-time natural language processing engineering teams, speeding up ingestion of localised municipal and state legal databases, and scaling business development outreach to law enforcement agencies across the country. The Massachusetts base gives it a short line to the department where one of its founders spent his career.
