Billables AI has closed a $10.2 million Series A round to accelerate its AI-native operational intelligence platform built for law firms. The San Francisco, California company announced the funding on June 9, 2026.
The round was led by Avenue Growth Partners, with additional support from Wing VC, SignalFire and Alumni Ventures. The raise builds on the company’s earlier momentum, following a $3.9 million seed round led by Wing VC back in 2024.
Billables AI focuses on a specific pain point inside law firms, which is timekeeping and the operational intelligence that flows from it. Tracking billable hours accurately has long been a tedious and error-prone part of legal work, and the company’s platform applies AI to make that process more automatic and more insightful. By turning the raw activity of a firm into structured operational data, Billables AI aims to give firms a clearer picture of how their time and resources are actually being used.
The company has gained recognition quickly. It was recently named Legal Tech Company of the Year at the 2026 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards, a notable marker for a startup that has been operating for only a couple of years.
With the new capital, Billables AI plans to accelerate research and development, expand its go-to-market efforts and deepen its growing ecosystem of legal technology partnerships. That last point matters in legal tech, where firms often rely on an interconnected set of tools, and integrations can determine how widely a product gets adopted. The funding positions Billables AI to push further into a market that has been steadily warming to AI-driven software.
