Volta Infra Holdings came out of stealth on August 4, 2026 with $300 million in venture funding raised across a seed round and a Series A. Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital co-led the financing, which values the company at $2.4 billion post money.

Azora and Nvidia invested, as did the family office of Michael Dell and Matter Venture Partners.

Volta builds cloud infrastructure for AI workloads, and it arrived with a commercial announcement larger than its raise. Alongside the funding, the company disclosed a $10 billion strategic partnership for AI compute capacity in Norway and a $5 billion AI infrastructure program. Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that the compute contract is with Anthropic.

Roughly 100 people work at the company today, spread across London, New York and Palo Alto, California.

It is an unusual shape for a company at this stage. Most infrastructure businesses spend years assembling capacity before landing a contract of that size. Volta announced both on the same day.
