Queen One has secured an investment of up to $2 million from Connecticut Innovations, the state’s quasi public venture capital arm. The first $1 million has been committed outright. The second $1 million follows only if the company hits undisclosed job growth and expansion milestones inside Connecticut.
The structure tells you what the state is buying. This is economic development money as much as it is venture capital, and the milestones are the point.
Queen One is based in Brooklyn, New York, and builds AI software for online retailers. It raised a $6 million Seed round in July 2025.
Its expansion plans are unusually specific for a company at this size. Queen One is setting up headquarters in a 30,000 square foot facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and expects the site to create 600 full time high technology jobs while generating $67 million in research and development investment over the next five years.
Hiring at that scale from a standing start is the hard part of any plan like this one.
