Warp, a New York City based developer of an AI native payroll, HR, and IT automation platform, has raised $60 million in Series B funding. Battery Ventures led the round, with participation from Peak XV Partners, Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, and tech executives including Shopify chief executive Tobi Lütke and former Stripe operating chief Claire Hughes Johnson.
The round came together in just six days, well ahead of the company’s original plan to raise in the autumn.
Warp is positioning itself against established players like ADP and Rippling. The company intends to use the funds to invest in deeper AI agents, expand its automated tax and compliance infrastructure, and grow its in-person New York workforce from 50 to 200 employees over the next year.
The business has been moving quickly. It has expanded its total funding to $85 million in less than a year, doubled its annualized recurring revenue in the first quarter, and is on track to process more than $2 billion in total annual payroll volume for enterprise clients and fast-growing AI startups including Bland AI, Serval, and Campfire.
