Yardstik Raises $30M to Monitor Workers After Hiring

Yardstik has raised $30 million in Series B financing led by Harbert Growth Partners, taking total capital raised to $65 million.
Existing investors Rally Ventures, MissionOG, Crosslink Capital, Grotech Ventures and Great North Ventures all participated. The company operates from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was founded in 2020, and works under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
The argument Yardstik makes about its own industry is a fair one. Background screening was built around a single moment, the day someone is hired, while the risk it is meant to measure keeps moving afterwards. Licences lapse, certifications expire, and circumstances change without anyone rerunning a check.
Its Human Trust Platform combines fraud detection, background screening and continuous monitoring across the whole employment lifecycle, so employers can see risk shift rather than discovering it years later. The company points to research showing that a typical occupational fraud scheme runs for 12 months before anyone catches it, and that 43% of cases surface through tips rather than through any system.
Two capabilities recently became standard for customers at no extra charge. Fraud Insights gives employers an aggregated view of workforce fraud signals, and Continuous Monitoring automatically enrols screened workers in post hire checks, cutting down on manual rechecks and catching things like expired credentials nearer to when they happen.
The numbers behind the round are healthy. Revenue grew 149% year over year, account retention has held at 98% across the past three years, customer satisfaction sits at 99.4%, and the company placed No. 861 on the 2026 Inc. 5000.
Customers span gig marketplaces, staffing and recruiting, healthcare, transportation, logistics and childcare, and include Gopuff, Liveops, Sharetown, TaskRabbit and HUNGRY. The platform connects to HR and applicant tracking systems including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Fountain, Bullhorn, Avionté and Paylocity, and its API first design lets marketplaces and technology companies embed or white label the identity verification, fraud prevention, screening and monitoring underneath their own products.
Chief executive Andrew Johnson runs the company. The new capital funds motor vehicle report monitoring, Office of Inspector General exclusion monitoring, and automated alerts that fire when a worker’s licence, insurance or professional certification expires.
Agencies and vendors selling into companies that are hiring at speed can find verified decision makers through recruitment leads drawn from newly funded rounds.
