1001, an artificial intelligence company based in London, United Kingdom, has raised $30 million in Series A funding led by Lux Capital. The round, announced on June 30, 2026, lifts the company’s total funding to $39 million following an earlier seed round.

Founded in 2025 by Bilal Abu-Ghazaleh, 1001 builds what it describes as sovereign AI operating systems for critical infrastructure. Its platform creates live operational models that help organizations predict problems, automate and improve decisions, and run more efficiently across sectors such as aviation, ports and logistics, energy, manufacturing, and industrials.

The company, which operates across both the United Kingdom and the Gulf region, plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team, recruit technical talent from leading global institutions, and build up its commercial sales and go to market work across key GCC markets.

Alongside Lux Capital, the round drew participation from the PIF-owned Sanabil Investments, Hanabi, 9Yards, General Catalyst, CIV, and Stanford AI researcher Chris Ré.
