Psilera, a Tampa-based biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation neuroplastogens and psychedelic therapies, has closed an oversubscribed $8.8 million Seed extension round. A syndicate of institutional and strategic investors led the financing, which closed on May 28, 2026.
The company plans to use the funds to advance its lead clinical asset, PSIL-006, toward first-in-human trials in 2027.
PSIL-006 is a first-in-class neuroplastogen designed to capture the therapeutic benefits of traditional psychedelic compounds while reducing hallucinogenic effects and cardiovascular risks.
Psilera was co-founded in 2019 by Chris Witowski, who serves as chief executive officer, and Jackie von Salm, who serves as chief science officer.
