Singularity has come out of stealth with an oversubscribed $80 million Series A at a $400 million valuation. The El Segundo, California company builds low cost air defense systems and plans to deploy them at scale.
Khosla Ventures and Felicis led the round. Seed investors AE Ventures and NEA returned, joined by Long Journey, Harpoon, Menlo Ventures, Y Combinator, Decisive Point, New Vista, Sunflower and Soma.
Jack Oswald co-founded the company with chief operating officer Shail Giroux. The team is drawn from SpaceX, Tesla, Anduril and Lockheed Martin, together with operators who have sold more than $12 billion worth of air defense systems.
Singularity currently runs multiple flight tests each month using hardware and software developed in house. The Series A capital will go toward scaling that work.
