The Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company, better known as AIUC, has raised $40 million in a round that pushes its total funding to $55 million. Ribbit Capital led the Series A, and First Harmonic also invested.
AIUC is based in San Francisco. Its product is AIUC-1, an evaluation and risk standard built to assess enterprise AI agents before they go into production.
The standard puts agents through checks for the risks that worry security teams most: jailbreaks, hallucinations, prompt injections, anomalous behavior, and data leaks. Each model faces roughly 5,000 adversarial risk scenarios, and quarterly audits keep the framework current as new threat vectors appear.
Several widely used AI agents already carry AIUC-1 certification, including Cursor, ElevenLabs, Fin, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, and UiPath.
The California company plans to use the new money to extend its audits, standards, and insurance coverage from agents to frontier models. AIUC was founded by Rune Kvist, who was Anthropic’s first product hire.
Security vendors and consultancies that sell to companies deploying AI systems can get verified contacts at newly funded security startups every week through Cyber Security Lead Generation.
