Peripheral Labs Raises $8.7M Seed for 3D Sports Replays

Peripheral Labs has secured $8.7 million in United States dollars, or $12.1 million Canadian, in a Seed round co led by Deloitte Ventures and Inovia Capital. Existing backers Khosla Ventures and Entrepreneurs First also supported the raise.

Total funding now reaches $12.5 million in United States dollars, or $17.3 million Canadian, counting an initial $3.6 million seed from May 2025.

The technology turns ordinary multi camera feeds into fully navigable, game like environments using AI based reconstruction. That opens up immersive replays, high fidelity player tracking and viewing formats built for younger fans who expect to interact with sports content rather than just watch it.

Cost is the other half of the argument. The neural rendering system cuts installation costs by more than 90 percent against legacy volumetric capture setups, largely by needing far fewer cameras.

Kelvin Cui and Mustafa Khan founded the company in 2024, drawing on years spent building self driving cars, planes and race cars at Huawei, Tesla and the University of Toronto. The business runs from Toronto.

Funding will expand the engineering team and speed up deployments with sports leagues and stadiums.
