Mammogen, a female-led predictive health company based in Aliso Viejo, California, has secured an institutional Series A equity financing of up to $30 million. The round was led by a major U.S. public retirement system and was announced on June 3, 2026.
Mammogen builds RNA-powered molecular diagnostics for women’s health. The new capital is set up to back the company’s next phase, which includes a pivotal prospective clinical program and an expansion into commercialization. The lead investor was described as a well-regarded institutional backer with deep experience across healthcare, life sciences, and medical technology, though the firm chose not to disclose its name at this stage.
The company’s lead product candidate is genTRU-breast, a blood-based molecular assay built to support earlier breast cancer detection. It is aimed in particular at women with dense breast tissue, where traditional screening methods on their own can run into meaningful limitations. The test measures 18 proprietary host-response mRNA biomarkers along with eight tumor-specific markers in blood samples using RT-qPCR. In internal validation studies, it reached 99 percent sensitivity for Stage I breast cancer.
The market need is sizable. More than 38 million women in the United States are estimated to have dense breast tissue, which makes them one of the largest underserved groups in women’s health diagnostics. Mammogen was founded in 2020.
