Robocurve has raised $10 million in Seed funding to expand its independent testing of how well frontier AI models control real robots. Initialized Capital led the round, with Notable Capital, Decasonic, Y Combinator, and Halcyon Futures participating.

The company is based in San Francisco and structured as a Public Benefit Corporation. It works as a third-party auditor, building open-source tools and benchmarks that measure what AI models can actually do once connected to physical machines. The money will grow its research team, extend testing to a wider range of robots and tasks, and support academic researchers building open benchmarks.

Independence is the point. Robocurve sets its own research agenda and methodology and publishes findings without giving frontier AI labs control over the results.

The timing reflects a shift in what general-purpose models can do. Tasks that once required purpose-built robotic systems are increasingly handled by general models. Robocurve reports that large language models can outperform some vision-language-action models on simple robotic tasks, and that output-token speeds are climbing roughly 2.1 times per month.

Serious technical limits remain. The company flags latency as the main constraint on using large language models to control robots directly, and it is an open question whether these capabilities carry over to more complex bodies such as dexterous hands and humanoids.

By size, the round sits in the top 7% of all US seed rounds for robotics, based on a sample of 1,468 deals. As models move closer to running physical machines, independent measurement of what they can and cannot do is attracting real capital.
