Hostie, a company based in San Francisco, California, has raised $12 million in a Series A round to grow its AI virtual concierge for restaurants. Obvious Ventures led the round, with participation from Gradient, Scribble Ventures, Burst Capital and Behind Genius Ventures, taking total funding to $16 million.

Led by chief executive Randall Hom, Hostie helps restaurants manage calls, texts, reservations, takeout orders, private event inquiries and guest communications while keeping hospitality at the center. The company says revenue grew tenfold over the past year as hundreds of restaurants adopted the platform, which has handled more than 2 million guest conversations and 24 million messages, booked over 400,000 covers and supported more than 50,000 private event inquiries.

Hostie plans to use the capital to accelerate product development and expand its leadership team across sales and marketing.
